What is cinema?
This question has been asked to me every Monday and Wednesday for the past 9 weeks now and still I do not know the correct answer. Cinema can be defined as an immaterial thing. As a concept or a myth or even a thought. It is not like film which is a material good that can be seen.
When speaking about cinema in today's society, people often refer to it as modern cinema but in actual fact all cinema is modern. The earliest dated cinema is around the 1920's when the Lumière brothers created the first camera and now we have moved on to the digital experiences of what we see in cinema today.
Anyway, to get to my point (up to this point I was revising my film notes) Last night I went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 and it was amazing. The other films I didn't really like as I always find the book better than the film, but this was beyond my expectations. The different cinematic techniques used are amazing and the use of close-up and camera shots make it exceptional.

I'm blue da ba dee da ba di
So none of my fashion friends warned me about the fact that the dye I was using for my Halloween costume would literally turn me into a freaking smurf. Even though they all knew I was doing it and I was wearing gloves (with elastic bands round the top) I still ended up scrubbing my hands for 45 minutes and then resulting with putting my hands in bleach for another 20 minutes. I looked like a Granny with my wrinkly fingers afterwards. Alls good now, my hands have gone back to their normal shade, but boy was i worried before.
photos will follow of my costume... it's just not dry yet!

The Lady Doth Protest To Much!
After a day of non-stop running about from the chaos of work to the complete mayhem of the international market and then walking round every bookshop in Aberdeen trying to find a damn book for English. Turns out after all the stress of today, I can get the play free online.
So, the first week of uni has been and gone and although I know I have a lot of work to do and a lot of reading to do, I reckon I am going to love it.
Many people know I am a tad dorky. Well, my stationary for my Shakespeare course proves it...

Dress me, I'm your mannequin
When I was in Florida last year I fell in love with Betsey Johnson clothing and that love is still burning as strong as ever.
After looking at her current collection, I have realised that I want some of her clothing more than ever. One problem however. Money! I wish it was possible for me to get the clothing I want, but with the rent I am paying and my desire for everything and anything, and the insatiable earning I have to buy Christmas presents at the moment (I am VERY organised)
So the items I want at the moment are:

How stunning is this coat? I love the fur detailing with the floral design. It is the perfect thing for winter this year.
This skirt is the sort of quirky thing that I would wear. I always get into trouble from my friends for wearing too much black but I reckon they would approve of this as it is very unique.
This dress is adorable. It would be the perfect winer outfit. If paired with a pair of thick wooly tights and a cute stachel it would be perfect for Uni. I adore it.

So, I tried this blogging milarcky before and it didn't really do anything for me but I decided I would give it another go. I am afraid however, that LiteraryPrincess is no more and now I have been reincarnated as Leahcar.
I start Uni this week which means one thing. FRESHERS! Everyone seems to be looking forward to it. There are so many events and such on but I just want to get started with Uni work now. I'm such a workaholic.
Since this is my first blog, I have decided to show you some of my delightful photography that I took while at Slains Castle in Cruden Bay last week with my friends Laura and Rachael. Laura made an amazing dress and Rachael was model. We had a brilliant day in all the different weather: the rain, the sun, the wind, but then again let's face it. We do live in Aberdeen.......
